Jakub Seidler became Chief Economist at ING Bank in the Czech Republic. His tasks will be to prepare macroeconomic analyses and forecasts for the Czech Republic and to provide analytical support for ING retail and corporate banking. He joined ING Bank after serving at the Czech National Bank for six years.
Jakub Seidler started his career in 2008 in CNB’s Research Department and Monetary and Statistics Section. Later, as Head of Macroprudential Unit, he was responsible for performing stress tests in the banking sector and for analyses of financial stability and macroprudential policy.
Jakub Seidler has an MA degree in Economic Theory from Charles University in Prague, where he later earned the PhD degree. He completed many research stays and courses abroad, with focus on econometric methods, financial stability, and central banking. His contributions regularly appear in professional journals, and he occasionally holds lectures on banking and financial stability at national as well as foreign conferences. He speaks English and German.
